Vanished Village of Terminal Island

Summary


Before it was overrun by shipping containers, federal prisoners and longshoremen, Terminal Island was a quiet fishing haven populated by a tight-knit community of some 3,000 Japanese and Japanese-Americans.

The Terminal Islanders, as they were known, supplied and worked at the canneries near Fish Harbor and lived in homes nearby.
