For about 20 years, around St. Patrick's Day, our list of the World's Worst Irish Jokes has been an annual feature of this column.
Because the jokes are so bad, readers may think the column is easy to compile. But it is not, and that is why I was looking forward to scrapping it once I had retired. No chance, however.
