BIDDING FOR LBMA: We're not sure whether we're wildly acquisitive, compulsively obsessive, fiscally reckless or simply possessed of a heart as big as all of outdoors giving us a desire to go around helping people with their best-intended causes, but something compels us to bid generously and aggressively in fund- raising silent auctions and, while in other endeavors we tend to lose, we generally win in battles against our bidding foes.
As a result, our home is filled with the treasures of auction victories, and this pelf ranges from Applebee's gift certificates to mammoth works of art.
