Summary
It's always reassuring to hear Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger speak about his beloved California, the golden state, with its unlimited opportunities, and problems that are easily solvable, if only a partisan Legislature would get its act together. Until reality hits, and you are reminded that the state's deficit will hit $20 billion next year.
It's true enough that the Legislature, through cuts and the usual accounting smoke and mirrors, managed to trim $60 billion from the deficit, which gives the Band of 120 something to yodel about (paraphrasing Arnold's own words about his native Austria).
