A person moving to Detroit has to scratch a bit to find attractions that make life in the Motor City worthwhile.

When I moved there in 1975, I could think of only two things that might appeal to me. (There turned out to be more.) The first was the relative ease of visiting Canada across the river. The second was the possibility that I might at last see a place that had become a landmark of the occult.
