Nearly 200 guests met at The Grand to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Meals on Wheels community service program and to recognize and show appreciation to the many volunteers who make it successful.
Judy Pedneault opened the celebration with a short history of the agency, which was founded in 1971 by Soroptimist International of Long Beach. Pastor Artis Lanier (with wife and North Long Beach Manager Valeria) gave the invocation, paving the way for the April 30, afternoon festivities.See the full content of this document
