Summary
There are two words that should bring shame to all Americans: homeless veterans. But the fact that many of our soldiers who have returned from Afghanistan and Iraq are living on the streets, and that suicide rates are appalling among returning vets, doesn't get much attention nor draw a lot of sympathy.
It's time American apathy toward our troops comes to an end. They've fought a most difficult war against elusive enemies in some of the most trying conditions - and have done so effectively.
