No one wants to admit it can affect the outcome of games, but after Monday's Moore League boys soccer opener between Lakewood High and Poly, it's clear the quality of officiating remains consistent.

As in, consistently criticized, consistently questioned and consistently more a part of the game than it should be. On Monday, Lakewood took a big lead at half and held on to win, 3-2 as the unwitting beneficiaries of what can be best described as interesting refereeing.
