LONG BEACH - The city's struggling general fund received a bit of a much-needed financial boost from the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency.

Agency board members on Monday voted to repay $1 million of downtown redevelopment debt to the city's general fund, a move that will help ease an $18.5 million deficit from the pot of money that pays for public safety, public works and other services and programs.
