It's a sad, sad day in college football when a coach as revered as Penn State's Joe Paterno loses his reputation for integrity practically overnight.

For 46 years, Paterno, now 84, cultivated a squeaky-clean image while running a big-time program that won two national championships and allowed him to win more games than any other coach in NCAA Division I history. However, that all seems meaningless since accusations came to light last weekend that he failed to call police in 2002 when he was told that one of the former coaches in his program sexually assaulted a young boy in a university locker room.
