Summary
This past December, Barb (Wilbert) and Curt Jasper, 1943 Jordan High School graduates, were given a surprise 60th wedding anniversary dinner party by their children. Barb and Curt were steady sweethearts throughout their high school years with fond memories of the Pike, Plunge, Strand, Arcade, Rainbow Pier, Spit & Argue Club, surfing waves, parades and big band era dancing at the Auditorium, Palladium, Coconut Grove, etc. Barb was Jordan's swing band vocalist and Curt, his senior year, the military drill leader.
Two days prior to Curt's army graduation from Texas pilot training during World War II, they were married in the base chapel. Barb went to work for the Navy on Terminal Island while Curt flew night fighters in the Pacific; he has flown with the Army, Navy and Air Force. Over the years three daughters and twin sons were born to their union. Later, Curt received an appointment as a regular Air Force officer. Together as a family, they spent three years in Newfoundland. Then in 1965 and 1966, while Barb managed the household and children, Curt completed two tours of combat in Southeast Asia.See the full content of this document
