LONG BEACH -- The Long Beach Unified School District and its teachers' union have reached a tentative agreement for a new, three- year contract giving teachers a 10 percent pay raise and additional monetary incentives, union officials announced Friday.

The agreement, if approved by the school board and union membership, would represent an end to an openly contentious bargaining process in which both sides issued public memos critical of each other's positions.
