LONG BEACH - Long Beach's California Academy of Mathematics and Science was one of 33 public schools in California to be nominated Wednesday for the 2011 national Blue Ribbon Schools Program.
State Superintendent Jack O'Connell said the schools nominated have all been successful in closing the achievement gap and boosting student test scores in math and English. U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will announce the winning schools next September.See the full content of this document
