Los Angeles County's economy is crawling out of recession, but unemployment will remain "painfully high" through 2011, according to the quarterly UCLA Anderson forecast released today.

The county's labor force of 3.8 million can expect unemployment to remain in the double digits, although below the 12.4 percent peak seen early this year, before finally easing to the 9 percent range in 2012.
