LONG BEACH -- Homeless advocates were scrambling Saturday to find a rainy day shelter site amid wet weather reports predicting more rain and 30 mph winds Saturday night and into Sunday.

James Brown, a homeless advocate who works with the Long Beach Homeless Coalition, said 55 people had a warm bed Friday night at the First Congregational Church and the church will provide shelter again Sunday night.
