Summary
A man was taken to a hospital Monday night with first- and second- degree burns after gasoline spilled onto a lamp and caught fire, said Jeff Reeb of the Long Beach Fire Department.
The man was pouring the gasoline while changing the fuel pump on a car in the driveway of an apartment building in the 1600 block of Newport Avenue. The fuel created a fireball, and the blaze spread to the first floor garage, a second floor apartment and the attic at about 6:30 p.m., Reeb said. The fire was extinguished at about 6:55 p.m., but not before it caused about $100,000 in damage, he said.See the full content of this document
