LONG BEACH - His Holiness the Dalai Lama is expected to make an appearance at Cal State Long Beach on Wednesday to receive a special human rights award from Amnesty International.

A sore throat forced the Tibetan spiritual leader to cancel two sold-out appearances at UCLA on Monday and an appearance at the Long Beach Terrace Theater on Sunday. Officials from Amnesty International said the Dalai Lama arrived in Long Beach from Japan on Monday and was feeling better. The leader is expected to speak at USC Tuesday May 3.
