Cmdr. Billy Quach Named Long Beach Interim Police Chief

LONG BEACH -- City Manager Patrick West on Friday named Commander Billy Quach to be interim police chief until a permanent replacement is found for outgoing Chief Anthony Batts.

Quach, who is a 22-year veteran of the Police Department, will take over Oct. 23, according to a city statement. City officials expect the process of finding a permanent new police chief to take about three months.
