LONG BEACH -- A suspicious package found today at a Long Beach Metro Blue Line station, prompting authorities to halt trains in the area, turned out to be an empty basket, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The object was found on top of a ticket vending machine at the Wardlow Station, at Wardlow Road and Pacific Place, about 9 a.m., Rick Jager of Metro said.
