Catherine Becker's first floor corner unit at 800 Pacific Avenue doubled as her art studio and its ample windows let in both light and the occasional outsider's gaze. For several months, her space was filled with 16 panels of a 20-foot by 20-foot mural commissioned by Caltrans depicting scenes of San Diego's Little Italy from 1870 to 1941.
