LONG BEACH - A city agency is hoping that by bringing down blighted buildings, crime rates will fall too.

More than two dozen properties razed by Long Beach Redevelopment Agency in the last two years had accounted for more than 25,000 police-responded incidents since 2004, according to statistics released Wednesday by the agency.
