LONG BEACH - More than 100 people lined Ocean Boulevard with pickets, whistles and blowhorns to protest Verizon's treatment of workers, as employees in New York rallied at the same time in a show of solidarity.

The protesters had several grievances against the company, including allegations of union busting, outsourcing jobs from California and overtime issues.
